Focus: Summit Together
Effective date: 25 September 2026
Focus: Summit Together ("the app") is a focus timer that turns your focused minutes into progress up real mountains. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Focus: Summit Together app for iOS and Android (shown on your home screen as "Focus") and to the site at https://rishabhDS.github.io/focussummit-site/.
We built the app around a simple rule: the app collects the least it can, keeps it only as long as you keep your account, and never sells or shares it for advertising. There are no ads in the app and no advertising trackers.
The app is operated by the Focus: Summit Together team ("we", "us"). You can reach us at tiny.thinkers.ds@gmail.com.
When you first open the app we create an anonymous account for you using Firebase Authentication (a Google service). This gives you a random account ID so your treks and friends can sync. It is not tied to your name, email or phone number.
You may optionally link Sign in with Apple or Google so you can keep your progress on a new device. If you do, Firebase Authentication stores the email address (or Apple private relay address) your provider shares. We use it only to sign you in. Google may also attach a name and profile photo; we discard both immediately and never show them. Neither email, name nor photo appears in your public profile, in analytics or in anything other users can see. You are never required to link an account to use the app.
Each focus session you complete creates a record: when it started, how long you planned, how long you actually focused, which trek it counted towards, and one of a fixed list of activity categories. There is no free-text field. We use these records to compute your progress, streaks and summits, and to show them back to you in Insights.
You can focus alongside a friend by exchanging a short code or link. The code resolves to a shared session, not to a person. Your friend sees your handle and your active trek while you focus together, and you see theirs. The app has no discovery, no matching with strangers and no messaging. You can report or block another user from Camp, from a shared session, or by emailing tiny.thinkers.ds@gmail.com; a block is mutual and removes you from each other's sessions.
Summit Pro is an optional subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your card or bank details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your anonymous account ID, a device identifier (IDFV on iOS), and the purchase receipt for this purpose.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports (device model, OS version, app version, a device identifier, and the technical state of the app at the time of the crash). These help us fix bugs. Crash reports are not linked to your handle or session history. They are on by default and use the same Settings switch as usage analytics: Settings › About › Share anonymous usage data. Turning that off stops crash reporting immediately.
Anonymous usage analytics (Firebase Analytics) are on by default. We collect events such as "session started" or "paywall dismissed" with coarse, bucketed values. We never send free text, email addresses or precise timings. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › About › Share anonymous usage data; collection of analytics and crash reports stops immediately. Firebase retains previously collected analytics according to its standard period (14 months) unless you also delete your account.
The app may schedule on-device notifications for the weekly recap (after your second completed session, or when you turn the recap on in Settings) and for treks you explicitly schedule. These are local notifications, not remote push. You can turn the recap off in Settings.
Precise location, contacts, camera-roll photos (we discard any profile photo Google attaches at sign-in), browsing history, installed-app lists, message content, health data, or advertising identifiers. The app plays named trail sounds while you browse and during focus (unless you turn them off) but it never records audio: it does not request or use the microphone, and no sound settings leave your device except the on/off and choice preferences described above. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
| Provider | Purpose |

Each provider listed above processes data only on our instructions and is required to give that data the same or equal protection as this policy. We do not sell personal data. We do not share it for advertising. We will disclose data if legally required to, and will tell you if we are allowed to.
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. It is kept for as long as you keep your account. When you delete your account, your account record, profile, sessions, progress, consents, friend links, public profile, and any reports you filed or that named your account are erased from our servers, and your authentication record is deleted. Backups roll off within 30 days. Analytics and crash data, which are not tied to your handle, are retained by Firebase according to its standard retention periods (analytics: 14 months; crash data: 90 days).
All of these are available inside the app, no email required:
Depending on where you live you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data. Email tiny.thinkers.ds@gmail.com; we will respond within 30 days.
We process account and session data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract). Crash diagnostics and anonymous usage analytics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it. You can turn both off at any time in Settings.
The app is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using the app, email tiny.thinkers.ds@gmail.com.
Data travels over TLS. Server-side rules ensure only you can read your own records. Session checkpoints on your device are stored in the platform keychain or keystore.
We will post any changes here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
